Gudetama (ぐでたま) means " lazy egg" in Japanese, the latest cartoon character to join the Sanrio family.

Gudetama is a raw egg yolk. He has an atypical lazy, unmotivated, and depressive personality.

All he wants is to lie on his bed(the transparent part of the egg) and drink his favorite soy sauce.

Its designer Nagashima Emi (永嶋瑛美) took inspiration from today's young people - the millennial generation without too much energy or expectation, and don't want to do anything.
